Overview
The Site tab in Business Settings controls how MyApprentice operates day to day — timesheet entry mode, which features are turned on, default Job and Shift To-Do templates, and the public enquiry form toggle. As a Sole Trader you configure these once and revisit when something changes.
Who This Workflow Is For
The Sole Trader role.
Before You Start
Decide how you want timesheets recorded (Hours or Start and end times), which features you want available, and any default Job To-Do’s or Shift To-Do’s you want pre-loaded on every new job or shift.
Step-by-Step Process
- In the left sidebar under ADMIN, select Business Settings.
- Open the Site tab.
- Set the timesheet entry mode:
- Hours — record total hours per day.
- Start and end times — record clock-in and clock-out times.
- Use the Feature availability toggles to switch modules on or off. Changes apply immediately. Disabling a feature only hides it; no data is deleted and it can be re-enabled at any time.
- To pre-load default Job To-Do’s, select Add under Default job to-do template, name the template, add tasks, and Save site.
- To pre-load default Shift To-Do’s, do the same in Default shift to-do template.
- Confirm the public enquiry form toggle is on or off — see Set up the public enquiry form.
- Select Save site.
Display Settings
Display Settings on the Customisation page can be adjusted at a high level if needed. Open the gear icon (⚙) and select the relevant tab.
What Happens Next
The timesheet entry mode applies the next time you open a timesheet. New jobs and shifts arrive pre-loaded with the default to-do items you set. You can still add or remove items on a specific job or shift after creation.
Common Issues
- Feature you expect is missing. Check the Feature availability toggles — disabling a feature hides it.
- Default to-do template did not flow to an existing job. Defaults apply to new jobs and shifts. Edit existing records to add manually.
- Changes did not appear. Site-tab changes apply immediately — refresh the page if needed.
- Cannot find Business Settings. Confirm you are signed in and that you have not toggled off ADMIN visibility.
