Team permissions that keep your margins yours
As soon as you've got a team, you've got a question: who should see what? My Apprentice answers it with six roles and field-level permissions — and, crucially, it hides your cost prices, markups and margins from the field crew at the server, not just on the screen. Everyone gets the access they need, and your numbers stay yours.
Six roles, built for a trade team
There are six roles out of the box — owner, admin, supervisor, tradie, apprentice and finance — covering the real shape of a trade business. Permissions work at three levels: what objects you can access, what fields you can see within them, and what actions you can take.
- Six roles from owner to apprentice to finance
- Control at object, field and action level
- Field crew scoped to only the jobs, shifts and clients they're assigned to
Your buy prices never leave the office
The financial fields — cost, markup, sell price — are stripped from the data sent to tradie and apprentice roles on the server. There's no screen to accidentally open and no sensitive data sitting in the app waiting to leak. An apprentice building or viewing a quote never sees your buy price.
- Cost and margin hidden from field roles, server-side
- No spreadsheet workarounds or hidden columns to break
- Step-up checks on sensitive actions like money and identity changes
Right access, everywhere
The same permissions carry across the whole product — scheduling, jobs, invoicing and the client portal — so each person sees exactly what they should, and nothing they shouldn't.
